The Chinese Cultural Centre Youth Chapter (CCCYC) is dedicated to celebrating the outstanding talent and achievements of Chinese Canadian youth, and to encourage youth to strive to be role models in their communities through active participation.

Awards Overview

The Chinese Canadian Youth Achievement Awards recognize successful youth who have excelled in various talents and contributions to the community.  Since the inception of the Awards in 2000, the Chinese Canadian Youth Achievement Awards will mark its 10^th anniversary this year. Therefore, CCCYC hopes to make this year’s ceremony our biggest event ever in celebrating this major milestone!

The four categories of Awards are:

1.  Performance Arts

2.  Visual Arts

3.  Athletics

4.  Leadership & Community Service

Three winners of each category will be awarded a plaque and a scholarship:

Gold Award - $500

Silver Award - $300

Bronze Award - $200

Eligibility:

1. 13 to 25 years old.
2. Be of Chinese descent.
3. A Canadian citizen or permanent resident in Ontario, Canada.
4. Nominated by two adults over the age of 25.  Nominators must not be immediate family members of the applicant.

Timelines:

Application Deadline: October 25^th, 2010

Notification of interview candidates: mid November, 2010

Interviews with Judging Panel: November 27 & December 4, 2010

Notification of Award recipients: mid December, 2010

Achievement Awards Ceremony: January 15, 2011

Submission:

Please submit your completed application by mail or in person to the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto. The Chinese Cultural Centre will, to the best of its ability, preserve the qualities of submissions with photographs or audio / visual material.

Your application to the 2010 Chinese Canadian Youth Achievement Awards must be postmarked (Canada Post) on or before October 25, 2010.  Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
