Mission Statement
It is the goal and mission of the Chinese Cultural Centre of GreaterToronto Youth Chapter (CCCYC) to promote the education of Chineseculture and values to Chinese Canadian youth. CCCYC also wishes toinspire the spirit of volunteerism and encourage Chinese Canadianyouth to be active members of the Canadian community, and to motivateand empower them to become future leaders.
History
The CCCYC has annually brought the Chinese Canadian Youth Conference and the Chinese Canadian Youth Achievement Awards since 2000. They also launched the 2004 High School Volunteer Fair working with many high schools in Scarborough. The CCCYC have provided many volunteer opportunities in partnership with the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto (CCC) and other volunteer agencies. The CCC will be building a new 600-seat performing arts centre and a multi-purpose hall for sports and recreational activities, banquets, conventions, and trade shows. This is set to be completed in January 2006. With the new facilities, the CCCYC has the opportunity to carry out new types of projects never done before. Our membership base comprises of members from secondary and post-secondary schools as well as young professionals ranging from the age of 14 to 29.
If you would like to build your skills and experience in areas such as leadership, communication, and teambuilding while meeting new people, the CCCYC is the place you can expand your network, gain transferable employability skills, and a voice to be heard in the Toronto community.
