Volunteer at the 11th Annual Chinese Canadian Youth Achievement Awards!

CCCYC is looking for self-motivated and responsible volunteers to help at our signature event – the upcoming Achievement Awards Ceremony.

Date: March 11, 2012 (Sunday)

Time: Approximately 10 am to 5 pm – varies by position

Venue: Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto

If you would like to gain some volunteering hours, develop transferable skills and meet new people, this is the event you shouldn’t miss!

Volunteer Positions Available: Registration Attendant - 4 positions (2 specifically for VIPs & winners, 2 for other guests)
  •  Register attendees: Award winners, Performers, VIPs, Guests, Media
  •  Receives guests and providing info regarding event
 Learning outcome: Good hospitality & Customer Service skills, Organizational skills

Production Crew - 3 positions
  •  Front & Backstage assistance
  •  Audio equipment and music instrument set-up
 Learning outcome: Theatre production, Communication & time management skills

Escorts - 2 positions
  •  Escort VIPs to stage & podium
  •  Escort Award recipients to stage
 Learning outcome: Communication, Customer Service, & time management skills

Coat Check Attendant - 2 positions
  •  Greet and check coats for Ceremony guests
  •  Provides security of coats and belongings
 Learning outcome: Customer Service & Organizational skills

Door/Hall Attendant – 4-6 positions
  •  Monitors restrictive areas, traffic of guests entering Hall & Theatre
  •  Ensure safety of art pieces in hall
 Learning outcome: Communication, Customer Service, & Organizational skills

Silent Auction / Raffle Sales – 4 positions
  •  Manage raffle sales or monitor silent auction area
  •  Ensure safety of auction items
Learning outcome: Communication, Customer Service, & Organizational skills

Ushers - 4 positions (2 specifically for VIPs)
  •  Help guests to their assigned seats in the theatre
  •  Manage traffic of guests in and out of theatre
 Learning outcome: Communication, Customer Service, & time management skills

Catering / Server - 4 positions
  •  Preparation of food in CCC kitchen
  •  Organize presentation of catered items in reception area
  •  Serve hor dourves and snacks to guests
