Congratulations to all 2010 Chinese Canadian Youth Achievement Award winners!
The 10th Annual Chinese Canadian Youth Achievement Awards was held on January 15th, 2011 at the P.C. Ho Theatre of the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all guests, friends, family, community leaders, sponsors and supporters who made it through the blizzard to join us and celebrate the achievements of our outstanding and talented youth!
The Awards started off with a lively lion dance performance by Northern Legs Southern Fists. Awards were presented among entertaining performances by our Performance Arts winners in percussion, dance, and guzheng. The reception hall also showcased the creative and beautiful artwork of the Visual Arts winners.
The keynote presentation this year was based on our theme of Past, Present, and Future. Our guest speaker, and former Leadership and Community Service Gold winner, Laura Suen, spoke passionately about her personal experiences in being a social entrepreneur and what it means to be a community leader. Laura is a true inspiration and encourages everyone to "colour outside of the lines".
We were also very honoured to have internationally celebrated violinist Yi-Jia Susanne Hou as our guest performer. Susanne's spectacular performance as well as words of encouragement was most inspirational!
We are grateful that the 10th Anniversary of the Youth Achievement Awards was a huge success. It was only possible with the support of our sponsors, CCC directors and staff, volunteers and fellow CCCYC committee members who all helped bring this milestone event together.
